KITES + Cherry Blur, Park View & Spilt Milk
8th August 2025 - 7:00 pm
The Grove
Age Restrictions: 14+ (under 18s to be accompanied by an adult)

After a brief absence, KITES return with their first major heading this year at the Grove. KITES are an alt/indie rock band based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, and have been making waves in the Northeast indie circuit since their formation in 2019 thanks to their energetic performances, persistence, and incredibly photogenic bassist. The band have been working tirelessly to cement themselves among the new pioneers of the indie rock scene, playing sold out shows at iconic venues such as The Cluny, ThinkTank, World Headquarters, and Sunderland’s The Independent. They have also supported acclaimed bands such as JAWS and The Native on their UK tours. KITES are best described as a potent cocktail of grunge-tainted indie rock – emanating nostalgia while pushing the boundaries of the genre.

KITES are joined by a trio of great local bands:

Cherry Blur – For as long as she can remember, Cherry Blur has been writing songs. Churning out melodies and lyrics always seemed like the only way to process the world around her. Balancing sincerity and a tongue-in-cheek attitude, she approaches her music with authenticity and playflulness. Her philosophy in life and in music is simple: have fun, be kind, and stay real.

Park View – Park View are a 5-piece band who come from a small seaside town on the outskirts of Newcastle. Taking inspiration from classic and indie-rock, Park View quickly gained momentum in the North-East music scene with their demos being highly praised in local music magazine: NARC.

Spilt Milk – Spilt Milk are an Alternative/ Indie Rock band from Gateshead. Made up of 21-year-old triplet brothers, Oscar, Isaac and Theo Nolan and our bassist Logan Lovell, they have been gigging for 4 years now and have experience playing headline shows in Newcastle and on Teesside. The four of them have always been passionate about songwriting and have been making music since they were young kids.

100% of the proceeds from this gig will be donated to Men’s Minds Matter, helping support mental health initiatives.
